Film Induced Tourism and Imbeddded Marketing: Attention is the Asset

Eric Preiss currently consults individuals and organizations in a variety of areas from personal professional development, brand management, content strategy and business operations. Concurrently, he is building educational platforms that employ foundational philosophical principles to solve today’s specific challenges. Clear thinking leads to the achievement of desired outcomes. Better judgement builds leverage into every level of the system in the marketplace of ideas.

We currently live in the most abundant, technologically advanced society in recorded human history. Our ability to educate our way to abundance is limited only by access to the internet and the accessibility of quality educational, informational, and entertaining content. We are creating the content, filling the context, building our reality. All streamed through screens from Hollywood movies to internet memes.

Eric’s first product is a five-part series “Philosophy for Five Year Olds.” Book 1 of the series on Metaphysics is available everywhere books are sold.

Most recently, Eric was The Director of the Nevada Film Office. In this role overseeing the operations of the state agency created in 1982 to facilitate filming in Nevada, Eric built intergovernmental cooperation between state, local and municipal agencies, managed the office operations, incentive programs, small business development programs, industry outreach, and international business lead development. Your movie made, or a complex studio development completed, Eric’s ability and particular set of skills were valued and sought after.

During his tenure, Eric implemented advanced technologies to connect employers and contractors, facilitating job opportunities and improving the speed of productions in Nevada. He advocated for a more efficient marketplace for the creation of content, in doing so built partnerships within the business and creative communities, locally, nationally, and internationally. He believes firmly in approaching projects with clear objectives using reasoned methodologies to achieve the organization’s goals. Many of the agency’s successes are due to his leadership. Specific examples include Eric being elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of Film Commissioners International, the implementation of tax compliance and organizational infrastructure for an $80 million newly created incentive plan, overhauling of the agency’s limited online digital presence, and the use of social media to focus the world’s attention on the tourist destination. All resulting in economic growth and development in industry, including all the industries supported by it and that it supports.

Eric is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career with Arthur Andersen, specializing in the casino hospitality industry. From the coin rooms to the board rooms, Eric moved purposefully up through the ranks to hold multiple executive roles in accounting, finance and operations for the world’s largest entertainment companies including Caesars Entertainment and the Las Vegas Sands. Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is currently consulting, serving on audit committees, speaking publicly and privately with individuals and groups, and writing and teaching philosophy.

Eric is an active learner within organizations and is currently working with several start-up companies in Nevada, one of which combines video capture and machine learning technology to provide physically and intellectually safe spaces for the future of learning, for our children.
